Abstract

While examining the social perspectives of chronic kidneydisease (CKD) and its most common cause, diabetes, acommon problem is spread of misleading information byunqualified people. This concerning trend makes it moredifficult for patients to receive prompt and proper medicaladvice, which in turn further delays their referral tonephrologists and endocrinologists. In this communication,we highlight the challenges and consequences of thisburning issue. We also propose the steps that variousstakeholders and policy makers should take to contain thisissue at the earliest.Keywords: Chronic kidney disease.
