Patients pay the cost through their health andmoney.Whereas market failures are well established and wellstudiedphenomenon in health economics and healthcare literature, there is a weak research base, including inPakistan, for conflict of interest in health care despite itscharacterization as “an invisible force shaping healthsystems and policies”.2 It “remain(s) a global issue that isneglected, underestimated, and overlooked by healthpolicy makers and researchers”.
