Abstract

Paediatric neuro-oncology in low- and middle-incomecountries (LMICs) accounts for a significant proportion ofcancer-related mortalities in this age group. The currentdearth of structured paediatric neurosurgery trainingprogrammes in LMICs requires multidisciplinarycoordination; neurosurgeons play certain key roles, asdiscussed in this article, in ensuring safe and effective carefor paediatric neuro-oncology patients. This documentintends to elaborate through illustrative cases of thetechnical and structural nuances required byneurosurgeons in LMICs to provide appropriate surgicalcare.Keywords: Neuro-oncology, neurosurgery, Neoplasms
