Abstract

The Bhagti movement, which originated in medieval India, had a profound impact on Sindhi poetry. The movement emphasized devotion and a personal connection with God, which inspired many Sindhi poets to create works that reflected this new religious spirit.
One of the most significant influences of the Bhagti movement on Sindhi poetry was the emphasis on the use of the Sindhi language. Before the movement, most of the poetry in the region was written in Persian or Arabic. However, with the Bhagti movement, poets began to compose works in the local Sindhi language, which made their poems more accessible to the common people.
The Bhagti movement also inspired Sindhi poets to create works that reflected their own experiences and emotions. They wrote about their love for God, their struggles, and their daily lives. This new emphasis on personal expression and emotions gave birth to a new genre of poetry in Sindhi literature, which is known as "Sufi poetry. "
Sufi poets such as Qazi Qadan, Shah Kareem, Lutfullah Qadri, Shah Inayat Rizvi, Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai, Sahab dino Farooqi, Roohal Faqeer, Murad Faqeer, Sachal Sarmast, Bedil and Sami, were instrumental in the development of Sindhi poetry during the Bhagti movement. They composed works that reflected the teachings of the movement and encouraged people to live a life of love, compassion, and devotion.
Bhagti movement had a profound impact on Sindhi poetry. It inspired poets to write in the local language, encouraged them to express their personal experiences and emotions, and gave birth to a new genre of poetry that reflected the teachings of the movement. The legacy of the Bhagti movement continues to influence Sindhi poetry to this day.
