Sindhi and Saraiki belong to the same Indo-Aryan branch within the Indo-European language family. Saraiki is spoken in the South Punjab, Southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Eastern Baluchistan and across Sindh. In Sindh and Baluchistan, it has had extensive historical, cultural, and linguistic contact with Sindhi. This research examines the historical background of Seraiki language in Sindh, it’s contact with Sindhi language, and the influences and similarities resulting from cultural, literary and socio-linguistic ties with Sindhi. For this study, the content analysis method was applied on written linguistic structures i.e. phonetic sketch, descriptive morphology, syntax and lexicon of the two languages. The purpose of the study is to highlight the historical relationship, linguistic similarities and differences between two languages. Analytical results reveal that, as a result of their long-standing relationship, two languages with a history of language contact and interference have many linguistic similarities and few linguistic differences.
