Abstract

Orientalism has contributed a lot to Islamic Sciences. Islamic law and its origin is one of the favourite areas of the Orientalists to research, they also have developed literature on Islamic law and its basis. Unfortunately, they ignored the Muslim's perspective and disfigured the reality about the origin and foundations of Islamic law. They emphasized that Islamic law contains foreign cultural influences. It has been claimed by the Orientalist's Scholarship that Islamic law shows undeniable traces of influence of Roman law. But they do not have sufficient evidences to prove their standing right. In this article Orientalist's viewpoint is being critically analyzed.
