Abstract

Hysterectomy is the second most common cause of major surgical procedures performed in women worldwide. More than 600,000 cases are reported each year in North America. The advancement of techniques and better results was initiated by Reich et al in 1989, who performed the procedure with laparoscopic assistance in a patient with severe endometriosis. Subsequently, numerous articles have been published that support or criticize this procedure, evaluating technical parameters, complications, costs and results. The laparoscopic technique allows the surgeon to evaluate some contraindications for vaginal hysterectomy before deciding the route to perform the surgery. The Clermont Ferrand uterine manipulator has advantages over other uterine manipulators. We reported cases of total laparoscopic hysterectomy over a period of 3 years using the Clermont Ferrand uterine manipulator; The results, follow-up and complications are analyzed.
