Cotton is a significant cash crop and the foundation of Pakistan's textile industry. Pakistan contributes 60% of the nation's foreign exchange profits, placing it fourth in the world for cotton output. Because of the cotton crop's critical role in developing the nation's economy, researchers have worked extremely hard in the past to increase the crop's potential yield under specific agro-ecological conditions. Plant material was evaluated in NIGAB field area. 59 accession were acquired from PGRI, NARC and sowing was done under field condition. Data were recorded for 5 plants per accession. Results indicated high variance of plant height and number of bolls shows higher genetic diversity for these characters and low genetic diversity for sympodial and monopodial, 2 highly significant correlation was found between sympodial and plant height, monopodial and plant height, monopodial and sympodial while highly significant negative correlation was observed between number of bolls and plant height. The outcome of this investigation concluded that presence of genetic variation in this material can be used as a good source in future breeding program because according to molecular studies, transgenic cotton should yield more than non-transgenic cotton.
