Abstract

Gender inequality remains a critical challenge in the path toward economic development, particularly in emerging economies. This paper explores the interrelationship between gender inequality and economic development, with a focus on how gender disparities in education, labour force participation, and income inequality impede the overall economic progress of emerging economies. Using data from a range of emerging markets, the study demonstrates that gender inequality not only limits the potential of women but also stifles overall economic growth. The paper analyses the impact of gender policies on development outcomes and offers policy recommendations aimed at fostering inclusive economic growth by promoting gender equality.
