Abstract

The author suggests a classification for case studies that makes it clear what the subject of the study is (the case itself) and what the object of the study is (the theory or framework used to analyze the topic). This classification also examines the case study's goals and methods, separating theory-centered and descriptive studies. They also differ in the ways they use time and frameworks, such as whether they are comparative or not. The typology shows many acceptable case study combinations and options, giving the researcher much freedom. This way lets you understand and analyze the subject more deeply.
