The study investigated the effect of environmental performance disclosure on the profitability of listed firms in the Oil and Gas industry in Nigeria. The expost facto study useda panel model involving five firms and time series covering ten (2011 to 2020) years. The panel model selection determined by the Hausman test showed that both time periods and cross section influence the variables in the model which prompted the use of the Random Effect Model for the model estimation. The result of the analysis showed that the disclosure of environmental performance of the oil and gas firms determines about 18% of the variations in the productivity of quoted firms in the sector. From the specific objectives, the findings revealed that environmental prevention cost has negative and no significant effect on the profit for the year of the oil and gas firm in Nigeria; environmental evaluation costs disclosurehave a negative and significant effect on the profit for the year of the oil and gas firms in Nigeria; and environmental internal failure costs disclosure has a negative and no significant effect on the profit for the year of oil and gas firms in Nigeria. The study thus posit that disclosure of environmental performance is not a veritable determinant of the productivity oil and gas firms in Nigeria.
