Abstract

With the introduction of biometric technology, especially Face ID, user identification has undergone a substantial evolution. Face ID, which was unveiled by Apple in 2017, replaces conventional passcodes and fingerprint sensors with superior facial recognition to improve security and consumer convenience. Face ID offers strong verification by constructing an intricate depth map of the user's face. It is susceptible to spoofing assaults, though, which use techniques like deepfakes, 3D models, and pictures. This puts users at danger of identity theft and financial fraud. To protect personal and professional data in an increasingly digital world, this study looks at these weaknesses and investigates ways to improve Face ID's security.
