Abstract

This paper explores the integration of sustainable business practices in Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and the associated benefits. It addresses the challenges SMEs face, such as financial constraints, lack of expertise, and regulatory complexities, while highlighting the opportunities through innovative approaches like energy efficiency, renewable energy, circular economy principles, and digital technologies. The paper provides policy recommendations to support SMEs, including financial incentives, education programs and simplified regulatory compliance. It concludes that innovative approaches are vital for achieving both environmental and economic synergy in SMEs, ensuring operational efficiency, cost reduction, and competitive advantage. The role of policymakers is emphasized in creating an enabling environment for SMEs to adopt sustainable practices, which is essential for a sustainable and resilient economy.
