Effect of four artificial diets and control (dark comb) was studied on some life span parameters of greater wax moth Galleric mellonella L. in the Department of Entomology. University of Agriculture, Faisalabad during 2002. The ubjective was to choose the best diet for mass production. The artificial diets comprised different mgredients (crushed wheat, brewer yeast, dibis-date syrup, glycerol and sunflower gnitsi in varying weights. The results indicated that artificial diet A; crushed wheat 370 g, brewers yeast § g, dibis-date syrup 30 g, glycerol 75 g and bee wax 300 g was better because total number of eggs laid per female on this diet was more (639-1033). In comparison with diet A, (crushed wheat 740 g. brewers yeast 10 g, dibis-date syrup 100 ¢ and glycerol (123 g) (250-430]. Number of eggs hatched on this diet was also better (637-1028) than diet A, (217-412). The result further showed that there was no significant differences in eggs incubation period for all the tested diets. Weight of pupae (female and male} ranged from 183-223 and 133-167 mg for diet A» in contrast with diet A (127-153 and 113-133 mg). Longevity of the adults {female and male) was also affected in contrast with diet A {control), which was depending on the type of diet
