Abstract

The research problem focused on the fact that most coaches tend to assign exercises to develop strength using training tools that differ from the specialized tool (barbell, medicine balls, etc.) in weight and size. Despite the availability of these tools, there are others that help develop strength more quickly and effectively, such as weighted gloves and heavier tennis rackets than the actual weight used in competition. Therefore, the researcher decided to prepare exercises using different weights (120g, 140g, 160g) and to investigate their impact on developing strength and the accuracy of performing the (Backhand - Forehand) skills for junior badminton players. The research aims to prepare exercises using rackets of different weights to develop strength and accuracy in performing the (Backhand - Forehand) skills for junior badminton players and to understand the effect of exercises using rackets of different weights on developing strength and the accuracy of performing the (Backhand - Forehand) skills for junior players. The hypothesis of the research is that the proposed exercises using different weighted gloves will have a significant impact on developing strength and the accuracy of performing the (Backhand - Forehand) skills for junior badminton players. The researcher used the experimental method with a design of (two equivalent groups with pre-test and post-test). This is due to its suitability for the nature of the problem and achieving the research objectives. The research sample represented the entire research community, which consists of the national team players of Iraq's junior team for the year 2023-2024, totaling (10) players, according to the classification of the Iraqi Badminton Federation. This means that the researcher employed a comprehensive enumeration method for all members of the community. The researcher applied a set of tests measuring the research variables (power and the forehand and backhand skills in badminton). The most important conclusion is the necessity of using weighted gloves of different weights and tennis rackets in training sessions. It is also essential to design exercises using weighted gloves with varying weights and tennis rackets to develop defensive and offensive skills.
