Abstract

     The aim of the current research is to reveal the role of art education in discovering and caring for gifted children in kindergarten. The problem of the research arises in the fact that many gifted children did not have opportunities to be discovered by appropriate programs during their enrollment in kindergarten and that the gifted child was not discovered among his peers. Ordinary students in the classroom at the kindergarten stage may lead to the disappearance of their artistic talent, and thus society loses those talents that, if discovered and nurtured, could benefit society later. The importance of the research comes from the fact that caring for gifted children, identifying them, studying them, and knowing their characteristics, problems, needs, and the circumstances of their upbringing. It is a fundamental concern in developed societies and some developing societies. The interest of countries in this category comes from the premise that it is a golden category and a national wealth that constitutes expensive and precious capital. In addition, it is the best type of investment that helps nations grow and advance. With the progress of science and contemporary technology, interest has become in discovering this category. The elite of gifted children and their care are inevitable. The research aims to identify the concept of giftedness in children, and to identify the specifications of the art education program in discovering and nurturing gifted children, in addition to identifying the level of the role of art education in discovering and caring for gifted children in kindergartens. To achieve the goal of the research, A random sample of (82) teachers from kindergarten schools was chosen. The descriptive analytical method was used for the purpose of the research, as a questionnaire was prepared consisting of two axes: the first: dealing with the role of art education in discovering gifted children in kindergartens, and the second: dealing with the role of art education in nurturing Gifted children in kindergarten. After ensuring the validity and reliability of the tool, it was applied to the sample members. The results showed an effective role for art education in discovering and caring for gifted children.
