Abstract

This study explores the importance of sports activities in Iraqi universities and the effective role of sports activities in Iraq for conducting sports activities for departments and units of undergraduate student activities in universities in Baghdad. It was intended to build and codify the Strategic Analysis Scale (S.W.O.T) of Student development in social, enthusiastic, cooperative and all other aspects. To achieve this, the study was conducted on a sample of 101 individuals from a community of 245 workers in the divisions and units of student activities in the faculties of the universities of Baghdad. The questionnaire consisting of four axes (strength - weakness - threats - opportunities) was applied with 57 items distributed on the four axes. The results of the study showed that. Sporting activities have an element of power represented by human potential through the experience of the constituents of the sporting activity. Presence of weaknesses in sports officials, adherence to material possibilities, and indifference of deans in sports activities. There are opportunities for sporting activities represented by harnessing youth energy, motivation, teamwork and encouragement from faculty. Sports activities face major threats, the most important of which are the COVID-19 pandemic, the mix of face-to-face classes, and the mismatch between the annual curriculum and student expectations.
