Abstract

The significance of the research lies in the discovery of educational alternatives through the use of the pyramid of preference strategy, which the researcher believes aids in the acquisition of basketball knowledge for students in order to contribute to the provision of an educational method that aids in the acquisition of basketball knowledge within the prescribed curriculum and may be considered an evaluation of the vocabulary of teaching basketball. In physical education faculties, selecting the finest educational approaches and demonstrating their acceptability in investing academic learning time. The following were the research objectives: The first stage involves developing a cognitive accomplishment measure for students at the University of Babylon's Faculty of Physical Education and Sports Sciences. 2- To determine the impact of the pyramid of preference technique on students' cognitive achievement in basketball. 3- Identifying student preferences for differences between the control and experimental groups in basketball cognitive achievement. As for the research hypotheses: 1- There is a positive effect of the pyramid of preference strategy on the cognitive achievement of basketball for students. 2- There is a preference for the experimental group over the control group in cognitive achievement in basketball for students. The following are the most relevant findings: 1- The pyramid of preference approach considerably contributed to pupils' cognitive achievement in basketball. 2- Changing learning tactics and breaking away from the standard method helps pupils reach higher levels of cognitive success. 3- The pyramid of preference technique is more effective in team games than in solitary games. In terms of the research's most crucial recommendations: 1- Using the preference pyramid to acquire fundamental skills in basketball and other team sports. 2- Using current educational tactics to improve cognitive accomplishment, master different skills in different games, and lessen dependency on old strategies.
