This paper intended to assess the contribution of Tanzania Teachers' Union’s collective bargaining power in securing favorable working conditions for teachers in Kwimba District, Mwanza-Tanzania. The study employed a mixed-methods approach and explanatory sequential design. A sample of 65 respondents was selected using stratified and purposive sampling techniques, with data collected through structured questionnaires and semi-structured interviews. The findings revealed widespread dissatisfaction among teachers regarding TTU's collective bargaining efforts, particularly in securing favorable salary conditions, reasonable workloads, professional development opportunities, and job security. Despite some minor successes, majority perceived the union as ineffective, leading to lower morale and engagement. Interviews with key stakeholders highlighted challenges such as government policies, resource scarcity, and external pressures from competing unions. The study concludes that TTU must reassess its strategies and enhance communication with members to better address their concerns and improve working conditions effectively. Thus, it was recommended that TTU should enhance its collective bargaining strategies by actively engaging with teachers for feedback and fostering transparent communication with stakeholders to better address their concerns and improve working conditions.
