This study explored how teachers use tablets for effective teaching and learning in public secondary schools in Geita Township, Tanzania. The study adopted a mixed research approach and explanatory sequential research design. The sample size was 217 with a response rate of 200 public secondary school teachers selected through stratified sampling technique, 16 Heads of School, 10 Ward Educational Officers, and 1 District Educational Officer who were selected through purposive sampling. Quantitative data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics with the help of Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 21 and presented in frequency, percentages, graphs, and charts. Qualitative data were collected through interviews and analyzed thematically. The study discovered that teachers use tablets to make immersive and attractive notes, document the learning process, initiate collaborative learning, develop writing, drawing, and designing skills, facilitate interactive learning, creating digital assessment tools for effective teaching and learning processes. The study recommends the need for stakeholders including the government under the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology to provide training to the curriculum implementers on the use of tablets for the effective teaching and learning process.
