Length-weight relationship (LWR) data from various global coasts were reviewed, and certain descriptive statistics and condition factors were noted. Fisheries data pertaining to Carangidae were also discussed and their growth rates were compared by area. Published data points to a wide variety of Carangidae species worldwide. Highest R2 = 1.00 found in Caranx lugubris from Guam Island of United States of America. Conversely, lowest R2 = 0.88 found in Lichia amia from Adriatic estuarine system of Croatia. The differences between these species may result from their geographic origins as well as other elements including salinity, temperature, levels of oxygen, genetic factors, feeding and nutrition, habitat quality, hormonal factors and various other environmental variables.
