Chetan Bhagat, a prominent figure in Indian English literature, has garnered significant attention for his ability to engage readers, particularly the youth, with his straightforward and relatable narratives. His writings explore modern social and political concerns and provide understanding of the difficulties that the younger generation faces. In this study, Bhagat's two books 2 States: The Story of My Marriage and Half Girlfriend will be examined in terms of their relationship dynamics and thematic components. The characters Krish and Ananya's tale in the book 2 States demonstrates the struggles they have in trying to have their ideal wedding because of regional, cultural, and traditional disparities. Their relationship becomes even more complicated as they work to persuade their parents. This study explores the emotional dynamics and internal conflicts of the characters. Similar to this, the term “Half Girlfriend” expresses the idea of incompleteness in interpersonal relationships. The story examines how deficiencies in relationships can be fixed, resulting in a sense of completion and contentment in the end. This paper delves into Bhagat's strategy of using relatable narratives to evoke contemplation about human relationships and societal challenges. The analysis helps readers comprehend the author's portrayal of interpersonal relationships and their dynamics on a deeper level..
