Abstract

Simulation-based education (SBE) is revolutionizing medical training by shifting the focus from traditional theory-based learning to hands-on, immersive experiences that closely mirror real-world healthcare scenarios. Through high-tech mannequins and advanced virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) tools, medical students can practice diagnosing, treating, and managing patients in a risk-free environment. This approach bridges the gap between scientific knowledge and practical application, enabling students to refine both technical skills and non-technical competencies such as communication, teamwork, and leadership. Studies indicate that students who engage in SBE perform better in clinical settings, with fewer errors and greater confidence. As SBE technologies evolve, they are transforming medical education globally, equipping students with the necessary tools to navigate high-pressure, real-world healthcare challenges. The integration of SBE into medical curricula is reshaping the preparation of future healthcare professionals, fostering not only technical proficiency but also empathy and adaptability in patient care.
