This paper aims to explore the complexities inherent in the relational processes of transitivity within Systemic Functional Grammar (SFG). Transitivity, as a fundamental concept in SFG, deals with the analysis of how participants and processes are interconnected in clauses. While SFG provides a comprehensive framework for understanding these relations, it is not without its ambiguities. This study investigates the nature and extent of these complexities by examining various textual examples and proposes a methodology to address them. The findings contribute to a deeper understanding of the complexities within the transitivity system and offer insights for future refinements in SFG analysis.
