Sarmad Sehbai is regarded as one of the significant contemporary poets whose poetry reflects intellectual depth, cultural awareness, and aesthetic diversity. His ghazal remains rooted in classical tradition while simultaneously embracing modern sensibility. This study analyzes the tone and style of Sarmad Sehbai’s ghazal, with particular focus on diction, imagery, symbolic elements, phonetic patterns, and the intrinsic musicality of his verse. The research reveals a unique harmony between subtle imagination and intense emotion in his poetic expression. The objective is to understand Sehbai’s ghazal within its artistic and intellectual framework and to highlight its aesthetic richness. In Sarmad's poetry, we observe a variety of tones. At times, he adopts a classical style, while at others he leans toward modernism; sometimes he moves toward realism, and at other times he fills his poetry with romantic emotions. He is undoubtedly influenced by classical poetry, yet he does not allow it to dominate him, nor does he accept the traditional beloved of classical poetry.
