Abstract

Drama is a multifaceted and highly influential genre of literature and art that portrays social conditions and events in an artistic manner. The drama, in its technical sense, is a narrative written for performers by actors in theatre. Essentially, it is a story drawn from everyday social realities and life reality and presented through acting in such way that, although it is a performance, it appears realistic. In 1975, just a year after the establishment of Pakistan television center Peshawar, the first drama title" pagal" was telecasts under the direction of producer Tariq saeed written by play writer Nasim Sardar Bahadar. This marked the beginning of a steady stream of drama from PTV Peshawar., hi lighting culture, Civilization and social behavior. The purpose of this research is both of promote Urdu drama and to fulfill the requirement for PhD degree. Great effort has been made to include authentic historical reference. This thesis will be a valuable contribution to the history of literature and art, and will serve as a guiding light for future researcher inshAllah.
