Abstract

This research explores the effect of vacations on students' academic and social learning at the secondary level, with a particular focus on the educational system. This includes analysing the effects of breaks in the learning process, the potential challenges faced by students in completing their homework during vacations, and the subsequent impact on their academic performance. The study also aims to explore the impact of vacations on students social learning, with a specific focus on the differences between male and female students. By investigating the social dynamics during vacations, the study sought  to understand how students interact, engage in extracurricular activities, and developed social skills during their time away from school. This study employed quantitative research methodology to gather and analyse data. A survey questionnaire administered to a sample of secondary school students, collecting information on their experiences and perceptions regarding vacations and their impact on academic and social learning. The research explored the differences between male and female students in terms of their engagement in social activities during vacations, shedding light on potential gender-based disparities. It also examined the impact of vacations on secondary school students’ academic and social learning. This study contributes to a better understanding of the influence of vacations on secondary school students' academic and social learning. By recognizing the significance of holidays in student development, educational institutions can adopt a balanced approach to experiential learning, ultimately enhancing the overall educational experience and outcomes for students.
