Abstract

This paper concentrates to explore the process of digital transformation of Politics in Pakistan from the time period of 2018 to 2024 and the manner in which the democracy of Pakistan has progressed within this timeframe. This study also investigates how the digital media platform, including the Face book, X, Instagram, YouTube, News Websites and Artificial intelligence, have transformed the political landscape of Pakistan, particularly in the context of 2024 elections. The digital transformation of politics simply means the use of digital technologies to carry out the different political activities. The Digital Transformation is the inclusion of digital technologies in various sectors of society. Currently, the world has gone online, so digital transformation is necessary to be in competition and significance in the modern world. With digital tools bypassing traditional media, the political parties are able to directly reach the voters through data-driven campaigns, influencer partnerships, and live-streamed rallies. This research study utilizes the qualitative research method to examine the process of digital transformation of politics in Pakistan. The interpretivist paradigm, relativist ontological position, subjectivist epistemological position and critical analysis were applied to conduct this research study. The findings of this research reveal that from 2018 to 2024, the digital transformation of politics in Pakistan has transformed political communication, voter engagement, and campaign strategy in the politics of Pakistan. Based on these insights, this research study recommends that the political leadership in Pakistan should develop an effective and responsible strategy to use the digital technologies in the political process for the improvement of representative democracy in Pakistan.
