The aim of the present study was to investigate the impact of mindfulness on happiness and anger, the two contrasting emotions. The sample of the present study comprised of 300 students of Peshawar University, studying in different departments, gathered through convenience sampling technique. The age range of the sample was between 19 to 28 years (M= 21.99; SD= 2.10). the research hypothesized a positive impact of mindfulness on happiness and negative on anger and an inverse correlation between happiness and anger. To test these hypotheses, three validated scales were used to measure these constructs namely, the Five-Facet Mindfulness Questionnaire (Baer et al., 2006), the Oxford Happiness Questionnaire (Hills & Argyle, 2002), and Buss-Perry Aggression Questionnaire (Buss & Perry, 1992). Results revealed mindfulness accounted for 25% of variation in happiness with .50 beta value showing a positive impact, whereas, for anger the beta value was negative but explained only 1.3% of variation in anger. The results also showed a significant negative correlation between anger and happiness (-r=.11). The results suggest that mindfulness should be catered to increase positive emotion of happiness which may increase the well-being of a person.
