The daʻwah (invitation to faith) methodology of Ḥaẓrat Ibrāhīm ʻalayhi al-salām offers a timeless paradigm for effective religious communication. Distinguished by wisdom, rational discourse, and unwavering commitment to tawḥīd (monotheism), his approach exemplifies prophetic clarity and moral conviction. This study investigates the strategic methods employed by Ḥaẓrat Ibrāhīm in his call toward divine truth, as interpreted through Tafsīr Maz̤harī and Tadabbur-i-Qurʼān, with a focus on their relevance to contemporary religious, intellectual, and socio-cultural challenges. The central objective is to explore how Ḥaẓrat Ibrāhīm employed logical reasoning to confront shirk (idolatry), initiated meaningful dialogue with his community and its rulers, and demonstrated firm reliance on waḥy (revelation). A comparative analysis of Tafsīr Maz̤harī by Qāḍī Thanāʼ Allāh Pānīpatī and Tadabbur-i-Qurʼān by Amīn Aḥsan Iṣlāḥī reveals the foundational Qurʼānic principles of daʻwah that transcend time and context.
Findings highlight that the methodology of Ibrāhīm ʻalayhi al-salām not only served as a compelling form of persuasion in his era but also remains profoundly relevant for contemporary daʻīs, educators, and scholars. His method encourages interfaith dialogue, corrects ideological misconceptions, and promotes ethical and spiritual renewal.
This research affirms the enduring value of classical Qurʼānic exegesis in deriving practical guidance for modern pluralistic societies and underlines the necessity of reviving prophetic models in daʻwah discourse today.
