Abstract

This study discusses the principles of international humanitarian law mentioned in the four Geneva Conventions and their additional protocols, explaining how international humanitarian law regulates warfare when it occurs between two or more states, setting controls to preserve human dignity and prevent the loss of innocent lives. It also compares these principles with Islamic law, clarifying the stance of Islamic law on these principles, in addition to outlining the sources related to international humanitarian law.
