Abstract

Munshi Prem Chand is a renowned urdu fiction writer. His fiction, specifically novels, reflects the colonial system of that time. His novel ‘Medan۔e۔Amal’, in particular, reflects the resistance and revolt against the british colonialism. The main character of the novel, ‘Amarkaant’, represents this thought through non۔violence and non۔colonial approach of life. He succeeds in instilling the same spirit of freedom in the nation’s minds, too. The research paper under study is going to disclose these aspects in the light of the events and characters of ‘Medan۔e۔Amal’. It will determine the status of Prem Chand in the field of resisting and non-colonial urdu literature.
