This study aimed to explore the influencing factors of smart cities on e-government (e-gov) in KSA. It also included the overview of smart cities and their applications, e-gov platforms, and the benefits of e-gov in KSA. After exploring the detailed definitions, the study identified the benefiting scenarios of e-gov in KSA, and discusses the different opportunities. By merging and contrasting the themes or metaphors of several qualitative research, the meta-synthesis technique is used to construct interpretative translation, lay the foundation for theories, or ground narratives. This technique compares, interprets, translates, and synthesizes several research frameworks to integrate many studies to create complete and interpretative findings. The findings reveal that e-gov is essential for improving government efficiency and serving the public, however, the Line City in KSA has emerged as the most well-known and cutting-edge of these smart towns in terms of maintaining 100% natural living along with a complete reliance on natural energy and lack of usage of vehicles.
