Abstract

The study examined the predictive role of social relationships and resilience on psychological distress among domestic workers in Sialkot. It hypothesized that social relationship and resilience are likely to predict psychological distress among domestic workers. Using purposive sampling, 200 domestic workers (100 males and 100 females) were included. Instruments administered included the Interpersonal Support Evaluation List Scale, Resilience Scale, and Psychological Distress Scale, with data analysed via SPSS-22 using hierarchical linear regression. Results indicated that there was a significant relationship between marital status, appraisal support, tangible support, and resilience as predictors of psychological distress, and resilience was more clearly the strongest negative predictor of psychological distress with an amount of 21.3% of the variance.
