This study explores the intellectual legacy of ‘Abd al-Wahhāb ‘Azzām (1894–1959), a distinguished Egyptian scholar, writer, poet, translator, and political figure. Positioned within the broader framework of contemporary Islamic thought, the research critically examines his literary and academic output in light of the cultural and intellectual context of his era. Azzām's prolific contributions in the fields of literature, poetry, Islamic studies, and translation—particularly his role in introducing Persian literature to the Arabic-speaking world—reflect his deep engagement with cross-cultural scholarship. Among his notable works are Introduction to the Arabic Shāhnāmah and In Memory of Abū al-Ṭayyib al-Mutanabbī, which highlight his literary acumen and dedication to the preservation and reinterpretation of classical texts. The study further discusses his involvement in Egyptian political discourse, where he advocated for national independence and Arab unity. Through analytical and historical methods, this research assesses the enduring impact of Azzām’s work on modern Islamic intellectual trends and situates him as a key figure bridging traditional Islamic scholarship with modern literary and political currents.
