This research article explores the concept of labor rights in Islam, drawing extensively from the teachings of the Qur’an, the traditions of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and the practices of his companions (Sahabah). While modern labor systems often exploit workers under capitalist frameworks, Islamic teachings emphasize the dignity, fairness, and timely compensation of laborers. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) not only advocated for the fair treatment of workers but also implemented these principles practically by paying wages before the sweat dried and treating workers with equality and respect. Similarly, the rightly guided caliphs (Khulafa-e-Rashideen) institutionalized these rights through just governance and equitable distribution of wealth. This study critically analyzes the gaps between contemporary labor systems and Islamic models and presents policy-oriented recommendations based on prophetic traditions. The research aims to highlight the relevance and superiority of Islamic labor principles in ensuring social justice and human dignity.
