Abstract

The jurisprudential status of verbal and practical usage, which helps in understanding the effects of traditions and customs in Islamic society. The meaning of usage has been described in various ways in the Quran and Sunnah, and its jurisprudential significance increases when it is related to the interpretation and practical application of the principles of Sharia in matters. Verbal usage is the meaning that is implied by the general usage of a particular word, while practical usage is the tradition or custom that is prevalent in a specific social and cultural context. The jurists have viewed both types of usage in accordance with the provisions of Sharia and have examined their use in the light of various jurisprudential principles. The purpose of this research review is to understand the jurisprudential status of verbal and practical usage and to structure their effects on how these usages can be used to interpret and practically solve jurisprudential problems in Islamic society.
