Socio-cultural-economic issues are the main factors behind domestic violence. This qualitative study explores these issues from the women residents of different Dar-ul-Aman shelters in Punjab Province. It uses in-depth interviews to learn the lived experiences of women who seek shelter in these Dar-ul-Amans. A purposive sampling technique was employed to collect data, and those women who had been residents of the center for the last 15 days and were willing to participate were interviewed. Data was collected from three cities Lahore, Gujranwala, and Multan. Further thematic analysis was used to analyze the data. This study, focusing on social, cultural, and economic factors, identifies patriarchy, educational disparity, financial dependency, and social norms and taboos as significant contributors to violence against girls and women. Recommendations include targeted policies, academic enhancement, and economic empowerment initiatives to reduce domestic violence and improve the well-being of women in the region. Moreover, community-based interventions can be used to address this issue effectively and to create a more supportive environment for survivors, ultimately aiming to reduce the incidence of domestic violence in Punjab Province.
