For short story writing, notable figures are Aslam Aziz Durrani, Ghazala Ahmadani, Ahsan Wagha, Amir Faheem, and Bushra Qureshi. The field of research and literary criticism features esteemed scholars such as Aslam Rasulpuri, Dr. Shakeel Patafi, Jamshaid Ahmad Kamtar, Akram Qureshi, Dr. Tahir Tounsivi, Dr. Mehboob Tabish, Dr. Hameed Ulfat Malghani, Dr. Muzammil Hussain, Dr. Gul Abbas Awan, Dr. Mehar Abdul Haq, Dr. Sajjad Haider Pervaiz, and Dr. Mureed Arif.In the Dera Ghazi Khan region, sub-literary hubs such as Rasulpur, Taunsa, and Layyah make substantial contributions to the cultural landscape, supported by numerous active literary organizations. The literary scene in Dera Ghazi Khan enjoys a unique and prestigious status within the broader Saraiki region.
