Abstract

This article presents a comprehensive and developmental analysis of Iqbal’s major poetic and prose works produced between 1911 and 1923—a period marked by significant transformation in his intellectual and ideological outlook. Grounded in the broader movements for Islamic revival in the modern Muslim world, Iqbal’s writings reflect a deep engagement with the challenges facing the Muslim Ummah. Following his pivotal 1911 address at Aligarh, Iqbal made a conscious decision to devote his intellectual and artistic capabilities to national service. Influenced by contemporary global events, his thought evolved significantly, resulting in a body of work that encapsulates his artistic innovation and philosophical depth. This study highlights how Iqbal’s literary and philosophical contributions from this period are fundamentally oriented toward the revival and empowerment of the Muslim Ummah.
