This mixed-methods study examines legislative failures in addressing Sangchatti (women-as-compensation) practices in Khairpur District, Pakistan. Data were collected through structured questionnaires administered to victims' immediate family members (parents, brothers, and close blood relatives). Using Krejcie and Morgan's (1970) sampling framework, 85 respondents were selected for quantitative analysis, with an additional 7 participants providing qualitative insights through in-depth interviews. A proportionate sampling approach ensured balanced representation across all union councils of Khairpur district. The research employed descriptive statistics, reliability analysis, and regression modeling using IBM SPSS (Version 25.0) to assess the correlation between legislative shortcomings and the persistence of Sangchatti practices.
