English for Specific Purposes (ESP) is an increasingly important approach within language education, designed to meet the specific linguistic and communicative needs of learners in their academic and professional domains. This research explores the effectiveness of the ESP syllabus developed for business students at the Institute of Business Administration, University of the Punjab, Lahore, during the academic year 2024. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach, the study investigates student and teacher perceptions, skill acquisition, and curriculum design. The findings highlight a significant gap between student needs and current course delivery. Reading and vocabulary skills emerged as key areas needing improvement, while speaking and comprehension showed moderate proficiency. Recommendations include the incorporation of task-based learning, needs-driven curriculum reform, and the strategic use of rubrics for formative assessment.
