Abstract

The current research intends to examine the community's ideas about resilient housing in the background of integrated rural development in Chak Patiyat, District Rajanpur, Pakistan. A quantitative approach was employed in data collection, whereby a structured questionnaire was used on 104 respondents. To analyze the correlation between socio-demographic factors (age, income, and the level of education) and perceptions of housing resilience, statistical measures were used, such as ANOVA, Chi-Square tests, correlation, and Tukey HSD post-ANOVA tests. The results indicated that age significantly affects perceptions, as well as income levels, where those who are middle-aged and those with higher incomes show more awareness and the values of resilient housing. Nonetheless, there was a significant relationship between the level of education and housing perception. These results are consistent with the conceptual framework of the study, which states that community resilience can be influenced by the personal traits of a person and the socio-environmental situation. A critical observation of the study is that targeted awareness campaigns and housing interventions should focus on the demographic group to increase climate resilience among rural populations.
