The adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) into the nursing workforce means a lot of positives but also lots of negatives. This paper aims at a review of how AI is applied in the different fields of nursing, both at the level of a DIRECT patient care, as well as organizational management and medical research. Nevertheless, decision-makers have several concerns in adopting AI technology to help in the selection, analysis, and execution of decisions, differential patient outcomes, integrated work-related efficiencies, data privacy, ethical issues, and nurses’ competence. The purpose of this research is to determine some of the benefits of AI utilized in nursing practice as well as acknowledging and understanding the barriers to the implementation of AI technologies and systems by nurses. Suggestions are given to facilitate the implementation of AI in practice for nursing.
