Abstract

Hafiz Shirazi (1315 - 1390) was born in Shiraz, a beautiful and historical city of Iran. He was not only a prominent Persian poet, scholar, and mystic, but also a great teacher. His poetry is notorious for its spiritual, aesthetic and romantic thoughts and themes. His poetry emphases on the unmatched power of love and transformative possessions of inaugural oneself up to all experience, including precious relationship of men with God. His poetry expresses and portraits the life in multidimensional colours, like: love, drunkenness, pleasure, grief and mysticism. ShaikhAyaz (1923 - 1997) is very recognized modern sindhi poet, prose writer, intellectual and scholar of great calibre. His poetry is well-known for richness of thoughts, depth of feelings, exploration of themes, melody of words, metaphor and aesthetics. Ayaz’s poetry ascertains beauty of nature, human love, social justice, Nationalism, patriotism, humanism, spirituality and Sufism, often usingopulent imagery and symbolism. His poetry has had an insightful impact on sindhi language, literature and culture. He is extensively regarded as one of the greatest modern Sindhi and Urdu poet of the 20th century, and his work endures to inspire new generation a lot. In this research paper, different aspects of poetry of Hafiz Sherazi and ShaikhAyaz has been discussed and analysed. From over all discussion and comparative study of the poets, it is cleared that not only Ayaz is inspired from the poetry of Hafiz but he lent a lot from life and philosophy of Sherazi.
