Abstract

An epidemiological survey was conducted to identify a worldwide contagious disease of (SARS)- CoV-2 (COVID-19) acute respiratory syndrome. It is considered as extremely infectious disease and mostly spread between people through respiratory droplets by coughs and sneezes. It was 1st transmitted to humans in Wuhan, China and became the 1st source of infection among human to human in community transfer. Coronavirus disease outbreak was first announced as public health emergency on 30th January 2020 by World Health Organization (WHO). Rate of occurrence of COVID-19 varies according to season among different age and gender groups. Incident of effected COVID-19 patients are observed higher in 1st wave than 2nd wave in Pakistan. Study samples of COVID-19 data were collected from sample management department of a well-known private lab in Lahore. The result showed that proportion of effected persons with COVID-19 during 1st wave has a higher ratio of positive reported cases as compared to 2nd wave of COVID- 19.
