Abstract

Masood Asher is the perfect and wholesome personality in Urdu Literature. He is journalist, script writer and translator at the same time as well as a popular Fiction writer. He was born in Uttar Pradesh Rampur on 10th Feb 1931. His real name was Masood Ahmed Khan. He migrated to Pakistan in 1951 and settled in Lahore and Multan. He died in 5July, 2021 in Lahore.
He started his career as a Journalism and worked as a journalist in Ihsan, Zameendar, Asar and Amroz. He played an active role for democracy in the period of Zia-ul-Haq in 1983 and remained a part it.  He was terminated from Amroz Multan. But in 1988, he was given the Service. At last, he was retired from Amroz in the same position. After retirement, he joined Publication Institute “Mashal” columnist Lahore.
At the same time, he was working in Daily Jung and Daily Dunia. His four collections of short stories “Ankhon per Dono Hath”, “Saray afsany”, “Apna Ghar”and “Swal Khani” have been published.
