Abstract

One of the important demands in the educational process is to pay attention to learners so that they have an active role in the educational process by developing creative minds capable of finding solutions to problems. This comes through the use of modern teaching methods. One of these methods is the brainstorming method. Therefore, the study aimed to identify the effect of using the brainstorming method in developing the performance of the smashing skill in volleyball for students, and to know the superiority of the effect between the brainstorming method and the method followed in developing the performance of the smashing skill in volleyball for students. The researcher used the experimental method by designing equivalent groups with a pre- and post-test to suit the nature of the research problem (as the research was conducted on a randomly selected sample of third-year students in the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences - Al-Qasim Green University for the academic year 2025-2024 consisting of (30) students divided into two experimental and control groups with a rate of ((15 students for each group. The brainstorming method was applied to the experimental group while the method followed was applied to the control group in order to develop the technical performance of the smashing skill in volleyball, and homogeneity and equivalence were carried out between the two groups in terms of variables (height, weight, age, accuracy and technical performance of the smash skill). Pre-tests were conducted after two initial units within the curriculum for this stage. The implementation of the curriculum for each method took 16 units, at a rate of 8 weeks and at a rate of 2 per week. The time of one unit was 90 minutes. After completing the curriculum, post-tests were conducted. The most important methods used to obtain the results were (percentage law, relativity, standard deviation, arithmetic mean, median, simple Pearson correlation coefficient, skewness coefficient, (T) for independent and related samples, percentage of development). The researcher reached a set of conclusions, the most important of which are: The superiority of the experimental group (brainstorming method) over the control group (the method followed) in developing the technical performance and accuracy of the smash skill in volleyball. The use of the brainstorming method led to the use of devices and tools that helped students develop the smash. Therefore, the researcher recommends: - The possibility of using this method as one of the important methods in teaching students of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences. The ideas put forward by the students must be taken into account, and work must be done to encourage and develop them by applying the brainstorming method.
