Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the variations in sea surface temperature (SST) and chlorophyll-a (Chl-a) data during shrimp capture season in Bushehr province waters, located in the south of Iran, in the geographical positions from E 50˚ 44´ and N 28˚ 59´ to E 51˚ 40´ and N 27˚ 33´. The SST and chl-a data were extracted from the +ETM Landsat 7 sensor satellite images from July 2002 to July 2021.
Based on the results,both factors have increased over 19 years. However, the difference between Sea surface temperature in the first three years of the research (2002-2005) and the last three years of the research (2021-2019) showed an increase of 3.91°C. The chl-a faces an increase of 0.16 mg/m3 between the two mentioned periods. The average chl-a from July 2002 to 2021 was 0.81±0.52 mg/m3.The significant differences of these parameters in Bushehr province, observed in the years that have been associated with the climate change in the Persian Gulf.
