This interdisciplinary study explores the multifaceted challenges and potential opportunities associated with medical waste management in urban hospitals within Bangalore. The research evaluates how environmental health risks, administrative efficiency, regulatory frameworks, and sustainability practices intersect to influence waste handling protocols and their outcomes. Drawing insights from hospital administrators, waste management staff, and environmental health professionals, the study employs both qualitative and quantitative approaches to assess current practices, gaps in regulatory compliance, and the environmental impact of improper disposal. The findings highlight a pressing need for capacity-building programs, stricter enforcement of biomedical waste rules, and adoption of sustainable technologies. This research contributes valuable insights into policy design, hospital administration strategies, and environmental health planning to ensure more efficient and sustainable healthcare waste management in urban India.
